About the tides at Shell Beach

Shell Beach usually gets one high and one low tide a day, known as a diurnal tide. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 30, with a range of 2.1 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft.
