About the tides at Shell Beach

Shell Beach usually gets one high and one low tide a day, known as a diurnal tide. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on Saturday, with a range of 2.0 ft. Neap tides follow on October 9, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft.
