About the tides at Skull Creek
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Ribaut Island, Skull Creek, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The range is large, about 6.8 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.4 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 9.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 4.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.9 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.3 ft on January 23.
