About the tides at Sneads Ferry

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The mean range is small, about 0.5 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 12, with a range of 0.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 7, when the range shrinks to 0.6 ft.
