About the tides at Tatoosh Island

Tatoosh Island has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Neah Bay. The range is large, about 5.5 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 9.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 4.0 ft.

Tatoosh Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Neah Bay: highs come about 8 min and lows about 10 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Neah Bay, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 8 min later. For tidal currents, see Strait of Juan de Fuca Entrance.

Predictions are based on Neah Bay.
