About the tides at Warrington

Most days here have a single high and a single low. Around neap tides the pattern can blur into small double tides. The pattern follows the reference station at Pensacola, Pensacola Bay. The mean range is small, about 1.1 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 30, with a range of 2.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 0.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.0 ft on October 3, and the lowest is −1.0 ft on January 21.

Warrington is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Pensacola, Pensacola Bay: highs come about 27 min and lows about 30 min earlier than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Fort McRee Breakwater, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 56 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Pensacola Bay entrance, midchannel.

Predictions are based on Pensacola, Pensacola Bay.
