About the tides at Fort McRee Breakwater

Fort McRee Breakwater usually gets one high and one low tide a day, known as a diurnal tide. The pattern follows the reference station at Pensacola, Pensacola Bay. Water here rises and falls only about 0.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.1 ft, comes on Thursday, and the smallest, 0.3 ft, on October 22. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 1.6 ft on October 2 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on January 21.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Pensacola, Pensacola Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
