About the tides at West Raspberry Island

West Raspberry Island has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The tide range here is very large, about 11.6 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.0 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 18.2 ft. Neap tides follow on October 19, when the range shrinks to 6.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 17.7 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −4.1 ft on July 5.
