About the tides at Wolf Trap Light
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.0 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 1.5 ft, on Monday.
Wolf Trap Light is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Mobjack, 9 mi away, where high tide comes about 15 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Wolf Trap Light, 0.5 mile west of.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
