About the tides at Absecon

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.8 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Atlantic City, Atlantic Ocean. On a typical day the water moves about 3.9 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.8 ft, comes on October 25, and the smallest, 2.7 ft, on Sunday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.4 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 23.
