About the tides at Ala Spit

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. With a mean range of about 6.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 11.1 ft, comes on Tuesday, and the smallest, 7.2 ft, on Saturday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 12.0 ft on January 25 and bottom out at −3.7 ft on December 24.
