About the tides at Allyn
Allyn has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. The tide range here is very large, about 10.2 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on Tuesday, with a range of 15.0 ft. Neap tides follow on October 22, when the range shrinks to 11.0 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 16.5 ft on January 25, and the lowest is −4.2 ft on December 24.
Allyn is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Seattle, Puget Sound: highs come about 48 min and lows about 59 min later than there.
