About the tides at Apokak Creek entrance
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 6.4 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Platinum. With a mean range of about 9.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 13.8 ft, comes on October 15, and the smallest, 9.4 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 17.0 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −0.7 ft on July 12.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Platinum, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
