About the tides at Back River Reservoir

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at West Branch, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at CHARLESTON (Customhouse Wharf). Water here rises and falls only about 0.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.9 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 0.5 ft, on Sunday.
