About the tides at Barron Point
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. The tide range here is very large, about 10.5 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on Tuesday, with a range of 15.3 ft. Neap tides follow on October 21, when the range shrinks to 11.4 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 16.9 ft on January 25, and the lowest is −4.2 ft on December 24.
Barron Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Seattle, Puget Sound: highs come about 50 min and lows about 59 min later than there.
