About the tides at Budd Inlet
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.8 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The tide range here is very large, about 10.5 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on Tuesday, with a range of 14.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 20, when the range shrinks to 10.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 16.3 ft on January 25, and the lowest is −4.0 ft on July 4.
