About the tides at Shelton

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 2.6 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. Shelton sees a mean range of about 10.4 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 17.9 ft, comes on October 29, and the smallest, 11.1 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 16.5 ft on January 25 and bottom out at −3.6 ft on December 25.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
