About the tides at Shelton

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.9 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at SEATTLE (Madison St.), Elliott Bay. Shelton sees a mean range of about 10.4 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 15.2 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 12.6 ft, on October 9.
