About the tides at Beaufort Inlet Channel Range

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier. On a typical day the water moves about 2.9 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.0 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 1.9 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.8 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −1.6 ft on January 23.
