About the tides at Beaufort, Taylor Creek

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier. On a typical day the water moves about 2.8 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.2 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.3 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 23.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
