About the tides at Channel Marker Lt. 59

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.5 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier. Water here rises and falls only about 1.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most North Carolina stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.0 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on January 23.
