About the tides at Beck Island

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Clarence Strait, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Ketchikan. Beck Island sees a mean range of about 13.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 16.1 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 20.0 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 10.7 ft, on Friday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Ketchikan, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
