About the tides at Blount Island Bridge
Blount Island Bridge has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Pilots Dock, St Johns River. The average range is about 3.5 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 4.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.8 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.
