About the tides at Bristol
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Bristol Harbor, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The average range is about 3.9 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 5.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 3.7 ft.
Bristol is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport: highs come about 13 min and lows about 0 min later than there. The nearest other station is Bristol Highlands, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Hog Island, northwest of.
Predictions are based on Newport.
