About the tides at Brunswick

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.3 ft. The average range is about 3.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Maine stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 4.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 7, when the range shrinks to 3.9 ft.

Brunswick is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Portland: highs come about 155 min and lows about 276 min later than there. The nearest other station is Androscoggin River entrance, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 11 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Merrymeeting Bay, N of Chops Pass., Kennebec River.

Predictions are based on Portland.
