About the tides at Cape Porpoise

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Cape Porpoise, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. With a mean range of about 8.5 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.8 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 8.1 ft, on Sunday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Portland, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Kennebunkport, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Saco River Entrance.

Predictions are based on Portland.
