About the tides at Old Orchard Beach

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Old Orchard Pier, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Portland,casco Bay. The range is large, about 8.5 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 12.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 5.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 11.2 ft on December 25, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on January 23.
