About the tides at Card Sound
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.0 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. The mean range is small, about 0.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 26, with a range of 1.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.0 ft on September 29, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on January 23.
Card Sound is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Miami Beach, Government Cut: highs come about 171 min and lows about 220 min later than there. The nearest other station is Pumpkin Key, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min later. For tidal currents, see Caesar Creek, Biscayne Bay.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
