About the tides at Cat Point

Cat Point has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Water here rises and falls only about 1.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.0 ft.
