About the tides at White Beach
White Beach has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.0 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 2.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 0.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.3 ft on October 2, and the lowest is −1.1 ft on December 24.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1978 to 1984 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is East Bayou, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 29 min earlier.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
