About the tides at Chatham River entrance

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.6 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Naples. On a typical day the water moves about 3.4 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.9 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 3.2 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.4 ft on August 31 and bottom out at −0.9 ft on December 24.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Naples, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Chokoloskee, 10 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 16 m later.
