About the tides at Shark River entrance

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Naples. On a typical day the water moves about 3.1 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.4 ft on August 31 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on December 24.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Naples, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Lostmans River entrance, 15 mi away, where high tide comes about 12 min later.
