About the tides at Crescent Bay
Crescent Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Townsend, Admiralty Inlet. The average range is about 4.3 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.1 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 9.4 ft. Neap tides follow on October 30, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.0 ft on December 26, and the lowest is −2.9 ft on July 4.
Crescent Bay is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Port Townsend, Admiralty Inlet: highs come about 161 min and lows about 122 min earlier than there.
