About the tides at Cribbeans Point
Cribbeans Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 0.63 m between high and low. That is smaller than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.35 m, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 0.54 m, tomorrow.
Predictions for Cribbeans Point come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. The nearest other station is Antigonish Harbour, 9.2 km away, where high tide comes about 28 min later. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
