About the tides at Cuba Island

Cuba Island has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock. On a typical day the water moves about 2.2 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.9 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 2.1 ft, on Monday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Deep Creek Meadow, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Jones Inlet.

Predictions are based on Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
