About the tides at Freeport

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.4 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Sandy Hook. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most New York stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 3.7 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.0 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.1 ft on August 2, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.
