About the tides at Ellsworth

Ellsworth has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Ellsworth sees a mean range of about 10.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 11.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 13.1 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 7.0 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 13.3 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on January 23.
