About the tides at Bucksport
Bucksport has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay. Bucksport sees a mean range of about 10.2 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 13.3 ft on August 4 and bottom out at −1.9 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1984 to 1985 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Gross Point, 3 mi away. For tidal currents, see Bucksport, Penobscot River.
Predictions are based on Bar Harbor, Frenchman Bay.
