About the tides at Falmouth Heights

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Vineyard Sd., each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Boston, Boston Harbor. The mean range is small, about 1.2 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.7 ft on November 26, and the lowest is −0.2 ft on January 23.

Falmouth Heights is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Boston, Boston Harbor: highs come about 16 min and lows about 9 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Little Harbor, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 2 h 47 m earlier. For tidal currents, see L'Hommedieu Shoal, north of west end.

Predictions are based on Boston, Boston Harbor.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
