About the tides at Goodnews Bay entrance

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Platinum. With a mean range of about 5.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 11.3 ft, comes on October 31, and the smallest, 3.0 ft, on October 28. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 11.7 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on July 11.
