About the tides at Granite Rock

Granite Rock has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay. With a mean range of about 6.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most California stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.7 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 4.8 ft, on October 31. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.3 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −1.9 ft on December 24.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
