About the tides at Hampton Harbor

Hampton Harbor has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Portland, casco Bay. The range is large, about 8.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 10.5 ft on December 25, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on January 23.

Hampton Harbor is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Portland, casco Bay: highs come about 14 min and lows about 32 min later than there. The nearest other station is Plum Island, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 13 min later. For tidal currents, see Merrimack River entrance.

Predictions are based on Portland, casco Bay.
