About the tides at Hydaburg

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Sukkwan Strait, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Hydaburg sees a mean range of about 10.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 13.0 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 15.6 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 8.4 ft, on Friday.

Predictions for Hydaburg come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1955 to 2008 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Saltery Point, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Sukkwan Narrows.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
