About the tides at Joice Island

Joice Island has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay. The average range is about 4.0 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 6.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 3.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.6 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −0.6 ft on December 25.

Joice Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Port Chicago, Suisun Bay: highs come about 21 min and lows about 41 min later than there.
