About the tides at Auke Bay

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.8 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau. Auke Bay sees a mean range of about 13.1 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 20.0 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 10.1 ft, on Friday.
