About the tides at Barlow Cove
Barlow Cove has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The tide range here is very large, about 13.3 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 15.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 19.5 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −4.1 ft on July 5.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 1999 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Funter, 5 mi away. For tidal currents, see Piling Point, east of.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
