About the tides at Kiptopeke Beach
Kiptopeke Beach has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 2.6 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.9 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.7 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −0.9 ft on January 23.
A live NOAA gauge measures the water here, and predictions are calculated from this station's own records. It also reports water temperature, wind and air pressure. It was established in 1951. The nearest other station is Fishermans Island, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 22 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Butler Bluff, 2.1 n.mi. Wsw of.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
