About the tides at Kupreanof Harbor

Kupreanof Harbor has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Kodiak Island, Womens Bay. With a mean range of about 5.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.1 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −3.2 ft on July 5.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Kodiak Island, Womens Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Ivanof Bay, 9 mi away, where high tide comes about 19 min later.
