About the tides at Yauhannah Bridge
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.2 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at CHARLESTON (Customhouse Wharf). Water here rises and falls only about 1.7 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.9 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.0 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 1.5 ft, on Sunday.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at CHARLESTON (Customhouse Wharf), with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1981 to 1983 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bucksport, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 37 min earlier.
Predictions are based on CHARLESTON (Customhouse Wharf).
