About the tides at Lituya Bay

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.4 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp. With a mean range of about 7.4 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 11.6 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 5.7 ft, on Friday.
