About the tides at Wachusett Inlet

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp. Wachusett Inlet sees a mean range of about 14.0 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 20.5 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 14.2 ft, on Sunday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Elfin Cove, Port Althorp, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1972 to 2009 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Muir Inlet, 8 mi away.

Predictions are based on Elfin Cove, Port Althorp.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
