About the tides at Long Key

Long Key has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.1 ft. Neap tides follow on October 30, when the range shrinks to 1.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.1 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.2 ft on January 21.
